Green is for Grow
Even though Lassen County is still bouncing back and forth in the seasons, from white to grey to green, spring is around the corner. By the end of the month, we'll see some green.
I remember growing up learning about how plants grow through photosynthesis. Plants need Sunlight to grow. In a similar fashon, as Christians, we need regular contact with the Son of God to grow spiritually as well. Bible Reading, Worship Services, Times of Prayer, Fellowship and Evangelism all draw us closer to Christ, but then when difficult times hit, I think that's where "the rubber meets the road'. When we can encounter the same diffulties in life but handle them better, that's when we see growth, but if we never encounter them, it's a little tougher to note growth and change. When I look at the diffulties in my life, it would be easy to get discouraged and sometimes overwhelmed, but when I take a step back and look at all the long term progress that has been made, God brings encouragement to me. When it comes to growth, Psalm 1 is a passage that comes to mind.
1 Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
2 But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do. 4 But not the wicked!
They are like worthless chaff, scattered by the wind.
5 They will be condemned at the time of judgment.
Sinners will have no place among the godly.
6 For the Lord watches over the path of the godly,
but the path of the wicked leads to destruction.
Psalm 1 (NLT)
God promises change and benefits from growing, but steps have to be taken in order to grow.
What steps do you need to take? What do you need to do? To change?
What do you need to pursue? To pick up?
There is much to say, but you can read it in this month's Parent Letter.
Below you will find some additional events for this month.
God Bless!
